Description

The Maple Syrup Production program is designed to perform all tasks related to carrying out work in a sugar bush, cleaning and sanitizing maple syrup production equipment, producing maple syrup and packaging it, maintaining equipment and infrastructure in good condition, navigating in the forest, and understanding the relationship between maple trees and their ecosystem.

Carry out tasks in various areas of maple syrup production

Demonstrate communication, interaction, and collaboration skills with coworkers

Details related to admissions

Any transcript containing adapted level or “Programme de compétences essentielles au marché du travail (PCEMT) ” courses will be subject to additional assessment.
Applications from individuals 21 years or older who do not have a high school diploma will be subject to additional assessment.
An individual who has completed mathematics courses prior to the new mathematics paths A, B, and C, should consult the guidance counsellor of the CCNB campus where the program is offered in order to determine eligibility toward the chosen program.
The “Programme de compétences essentielles (PCE)” is a specific high school path which prepares the student for enrollment in one or several pre-established programs leading to one or more trades.
The application of an individual who has obtained a high school diploma with courses from the “PCE”, and who wishes to change to another field of training, will be subject to an additional assessment.

Conditioning and Storage of Maple Syrup

This course enables students to understand the pressure filtration process of maple syrup and acquire the knowledge needed for its storage and preservation. Students will also learn the cleaning and rinsing procedures for maple syrup conditioning and storage equipment.

Introduction à l'analyse de sol - prélèvement d'échantillon

Ce cours permettra à l'étudiant d'apprendre les méthodes de prélèvement des échantillons de sol et d'autres variétés d'échantillons utiles en production végétale. Les étudiants apprendront à interpréter les résultats de ces analyses afin d'optimiser l'utilisation des nutriments.
